READ HERE WHAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY

I bought a Daewoo Leganza from AC last September with the promise of two years free servicing just recently made enquiries only to be told they have no record of any such deal.
Never had any problems when Daewoo were on there own 21.5.2003

I bought a Saxo Vtr last year from A/C Linwood. They are a complete and joke of
a company. I had bought the car and I had a private plate on my car that I was
going to trade. So I get the new insurance documents from Arnold Clark through
the post and to my surprise the new VTR is registered with the private plate on
the insurance and it is already started. So there I am running around in my
current car with the private plate on it and the new one with the same plate.
This hence has total invalidated my insurance on both cars and is classed as
fraud.
Complained to head office and they said it is handled at branch level. Never got
a call from them.
Other problems I have had are new drive shaft after 500 miles.
Put it in for service and came out with scratches on it. Then I called and they
said the scratches were on it. Then the funnier bit was that the service manager
phoned and said the scratches were on it. The last phone call I lost it on the
phone which I normally don't do. The General Manager phoned to tell me that the
scratches were there!!
Now I'm sorry are you trying to tell  me that Mr GM checks all the cars that come
in for service. Think I told him to Fuck off at that point and had to pay for
scratches on paintwork.
I have paid for car now and will never buy service or phone this company ever
again.
I hope they get found out and get put out of business!!! 21.5.2003

I purchased a car from A.C in January which I was told would be getting a new
exhaust. The first week having the car it was in the garage as the clock and cd
player weren't working, the air bag light was flashing and the oil light was
also flashing. (It needed a litre of oil, so much for pre-delivery inspection).
A month after our bumper had popped out and we realised it had no bumper clips
and we were also told that our back wheel was moving. So I booked it in for a
wheel alignment test and yes the alloy was buckled. A.C did fix this but not
until 5 weeks later. In the meantime my first payment for the car was not
collected on the due date and I phoned A.C who gave me numbers to phone First
National who had never heard of me, so the outcome of that being I didn't make
my 1st payment until 6 weeks later. A month later the whole clutch packed in, it
should have been 400 pounds to fix but thankfully I had purchased Auto care with
the car. Three weeks ago I got the car towed in!
again with a suspected seized caliper but I received a call from Arnold Clark
saying the car needed a new exhaust, brake pads etc. I've been in touch with
Alasdair Craig at HQ who has proven to be an arrogant asshole who says that A.C
will not fix the exhaust as it was only one part of three that got renewed when
I bought the car, but the sales guy Tony Stewart told my husband and I it would
be getting a whole new exhaust. I wish I had seen this site before I made my
purchase as A.C would not have got any of my money 21.5.2003

I am currently seeing out my notice period at one of the tight old bar stewards
retailers south of the border.
He / his management team decided to change the bonus structure when they took
over back in October 2002, to have the payment made every 4 months.
The 4 month period is now up and due to me being on my notice period they have
decided that they are no longer going to honor my bonus payment.
Not only myself, but three others have had this done to them in the last month.
So please don't feel as though it is just consumers / customers he shits on it is
his staff too.
Unfortunately, Mr Clark doesn't or hasn't yet realised that south of the border
he doesn't own everything and luckily we still have a choice as he has not yet
monolpolised the market down here as he has in Scotland.
I hope that the old bastard and his cronies choke in there sleep. 22.5.2003

ARNOLD CLARK COMPLAINTS POLICY.................
My current employment with asshole Clark automobiles id thankfully drawing to an
end, but just to let the rest of you guys know about how he deals with his
complaints at head office.
Picture the scene...............
You take your three week old car into the service department, for whatever
reason or poor excuse ( i now have loads !! ) your vehicle is (a) not ready and
(b) you must have made the faults up because our techs could not find any fault
!!! laughs the service advisor.........
.....you ask to speak to the service manager.........
s/he comes out and tells you the same as the previous lady/gentleman on the
reception.................
now here's the good part..........
thinking that you aren't getting anywhere talking to these people in the branch,
I may get a little more help if I speak to Head office.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ???
simple, the service manager who didn't or couldn't help you 30 minutes ago
receives a fax from head office 'BY ORDER OF MR. CLARK HIMSELF'.
The fax details everything you said to this guy - the only difference being they
now have your phone number and you are at home, so he can argue the toss away
from any other would-be customers in the showroom.
The fax must be replied to within 24 hours - this is the only stipulation AC has
got - COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE - more like what complaints procedure ?!!
Save your time and money and just buy a car from elsewhere, hit him where it
hurts - In his arse pocket !! 22.5.2003

Just a quick note of sympathy to everyone north of the border.
This sad old man has more or less monolpolised the motor network in Scotland,
leaving you guys with out a lot of choice.
Luckily he hasn't managed to do it down here yet !!!
Help keep England more or less AC free !!!!!!!!!
Thanks. 22.5.2003

July 2001 i bought an ex rental corsa from Arnold Clark and was told it had been
serviced at 20k and stamped stupidly i thought nothing of it until i went to get
sum repairs done under Autocare warranty (another rip off) and found the service
book hadn't been stamped an had to pay for the repairs my self. haha no fucking
way went to Arnold Clark and was so close to hitting the sales guy that the
branch manager told me he would have it stamped an delivered that day strangely
they did an all was well but never again would i buy from Arnold Clark there a
rip off...aww an £210 to do a service an change a timing belt is shocking when a
local garage did it for £170 and they even used good quality materials like
castrol oil an ngk spark plugs lol aww and they actually changed the fuel filter
which Arnold Clark doesn't even know were it is so u suck big time

Arnold Clark Citreon Inverness ( anon)
all mechanics are not crooks some have bad backs carrying
others don't blame the mechanics they are told to shut up and do as they are told
and be grateful to work for such a good firm
in recent months it has not only been cars that have been getting serviced also
a receptionist
this seemed to be ok with the service manager and sales manager
"only who answered the phone you would be phoning to when she was being
serviced"
as for the service manager (IT CAME FROM MARS   NO SORRY FROM PEUGEOT )
drunken b@stard
he walks about looking into space
he couldn't put a head on a brush "but of course he couldn't "
the handle is so far up his arse and his arse belongs to Arnie
so next time you ask for a service make sure its your car thats getting the
service( not the staff )
AFTER ALL YOUR PAYING FOR IT
as far as sales and after sales go they are pish
so don't always blame the mechanics well the ones with the humps on their backs
anyway
just a little poem to Arnie
DEAR ARNIE I HOPE YOU LIKE YOUR A/C SITE
BECAUSE ALL THESE PEOPLE KNOW YOUR CARS ARE SHITE
YOU DON'T GIVE A FLYING F@CK
AS LONG AS YOUR MAKING A FAST BUCK 23.5.2003
